FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

These are some of the more common questions we are asked by our customers. Clearly you may have specific questions you need to ask about your project. Please feel free to ask anything of our staff.

How long How long will it take for the work to be carried out from the date we place an order?

Blinds, awnings and fly screen installations will be carried out within 2 weeks with shutters taking 8 weeks. I’m some circumstances we can carry out work within a week, please call for more info.

Is there any kind of pushy sales talk?

Strictly not, we pride ourselves on honest pricing with zero pressure to go ahead. All Carter Blinds employees are tradesman like people, not your cliche double glazed salesman. Whilst we are happy to proceed with orders at the quotation stage, customers are always offered the chance to think about their choice with no follow up calls or hassling whatsoever.

How and when do we pay for the goods and services?

We require a 50% deposit on order placement. The remainder of the balance is payable on the day of installation. Payment can be made by cheque, cash, card or bank transfer (2% charge for credit cards).

I want to arrange a free quotation, how long do I have to wait?

We know you are eager to find out what we can offer so we try our best to arrange your quotation within a week. Please contact us here to start the process.

Once you have visited, when will we receive the details of the quotation?

Once we have measured and you have selected a product time we can give you the quotation there and then at your home or work place. If you would prefer to have this in writing we can send instantly by email or within 3 working days by post.

What kind of guarantee do we get?

All products are covered under manufacturers guarantee for 12 months with shutters lasting 3 years. We also mirror the same time frames for the fixing of the goods carried out by us. Your statutory rights are not affected

Do you have a shop or showroom we can visit?

We do not have a showroom or shop. This is purposely to save the customer paying towards big overheads. As all jobs require us to measure and survey the windows in your home we can pass the savings on to you by not having an expensive shop to pay for. At the same time of measuring we will give you the chance to view the samples in the comfort of your own home.

Will you take down and remove our existing blinds and/ or curtains?

Yes we will happily take down your window dressings free of charge. However, if we are asked to dispose of the old goods we will charge £6.00 inc VAT per set of windows.

Do we have to have the child safety devices installed with our new blinds?

Yes, we cannot emphasise enough how seriously we take child safety law at Carter Blinds Ltd. All blinds and installations will adhere to the current British child safety legislation. If we are asked by the customer to bypass the laws we would immediately look to end the contract and no work will be carried out by our company.
